Newgrange Currach Project........                           Tionscadail Currach Brú na Bóinne.............

After spending the last two weeks with our Newgrange Currach , Bovinda, at sea in Laytown, Co. Meath, Ireland, we have been very pleasantly surprised with her performance. The first tide lifted her gradually and she bobbed up and down in the water for about 2 hours before being gently left down on the sand again. She spent some time on rough waters too and preformed exactly as we wanted her to! Huge thanks to Indaver, and Meath County Council as well as Louth County Museum for giving us the opportunity to showcase her before her sea-trials at the Drogheda Maritime Festival last month. Lots more trials needed but for the moment she is back in dry dock at the Boyne Currach Centre while we get to work on her again....
